Partnerships & Notable Collaborations
Jordan Delks has played a key role in the development of top-tier basketball talents and has cultivated strategic partnerships within the basketball community.
Mason Gillis
Jordan was instrumental in the development of Mason Gillis, a Big Ten 6th Man of the Year and the NCAA’s #2 all-time winningest player at Purdue. Mason and Jordan maintain a close professional relationship, collaborating on business ventures, public speaking engagements, and basketball camps. Mason authored the foreword to Jordan’s recent book, The Compete Mentality, which details the mindset training that both athletes have engaged in—training that helped Mason set the Mackey Arena record with nine three-pointers in a game.
Trey Kaufman-Renn (TKR)
Jordan has also partnered with Trey Kaufman-Renn, assisting him in a remarkable transformation from averaging 6.4 points per game in 2024 to 20.1 in 2025 — earning him First Team All-Big Ten and Third Team All-America honors, making him one of the most improved players in college basketball. This transformation was fostered during an intensive off-season training period at “The Barn” in 2024, where Jordan and Trey dedicated countless hours focusing on mindset and skill development.
Camp Better
Jordan and Trey Kaufman-Renn co-host Camp Better, a specialized basketball and mindset camp designed for youth through college-aged players. The camp emphasizes mental toughness, work ethic, and skill mastery—values Jordan passionately advocates and exemplifies through his coaching.
Playing Career
Jordan’s basketball journey began in earnest during his youth, culminating in a successful high school career at Rossville High School. He earned a scholarship to Anderson University, where he demonstrated resilience and perseverance. Despite not dressing for his first NCAA game—Tom Crean’s coaching debut at Indiana—Jordan used this setback as motivation to become one of the nations best 3 point shooters later in his career using adversity as an opportunity.
Later transferring to Purdue North Central University (now Purdue Northwest), Jordan distinguished himself as one of the top three-point shooters in the nation. He led the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference in three-point percentage and three-pointers made, finishing 4th nationally with a 45% shooting percentage and 9th in total three-pointers made with 89. His relentless work ethic, including consistent off-season training, exemplified his commitment to mastering his craft.
Transition into Coaching and Player Development
Jordan transitioned into coaching with a clear vision: to develop players both on and off the court. He began his coaching career as a manager at Purdue University, gaining invaluable insights from Coach Matt Painter and his staff. His involvement in basketball camps at Purdue, Duke, and Wisconsin further enriched his understanding of player development and game strategy, while learning from legendary coaches such as Coach K, Bo Ryan and Matt Painter.
Determined to make a broader impact, Jordan personally reached out to over 200 college coaches, ultimately accepting an assistant coaching role at Judson University. Jordan was involved in all areas of the program under Head Coach Joel Cotton including Head of Recruiting and Player Development. His expertise grew further at Indiana Wesleyan University, where he contributed to a national championship-winning team in 2016. Working alongside top coaches such as Greg Tonagel, Jeff Clark, and Ethan Whaley, Jordan honed his skills as the teams “toughness czar”.
Basketball Training & Facility
Since 2011, Jordan has dedicated himself to training athletes at all levels—from youth to professional. In 2015, he and his wife Courtney founded Compete Training Academy, a purpose-built facility in Marion, Indiana. Transformed from a former dairy barn, the training facility offers a comprehensive training environment—including basketball skills development focused on shooting, sports performance, medical grade red light therapy, mental toughness coaching, and cold plunge therapy.
Jordan’s training philosophy emphasizes technical mastery, competitive mindset, and disciplined hard work. He has coached and trained hundreds of players, including collegiate athletes and professionals from overseas, the WNBA and NBA, helping them elevate their game and reach their goals.
Mission
Jordan’s mission is to cultivate elite basketball players and empower individuals with the skills, confidence, and mindset needed to compete at the highest levels. Whether working one-on-one, in small groups, or team settings, Jordan is committed to unlocking each athlete’s full potential.
Personal Life
Jordan is a husband and father, dedicated to inspiring the next generation of athletes. Outside of basketball, he enjoys spending time outdoors hunting whitetail deer, exercise, and reading, but his true passion remains helping others achieve their full potential through disciplined, intentional practice.
