Basketball
Jordan Delks has worked and competed for everything his entire life.

In 4th grade Jordan made it a goal to play college basketball. After a standout career at Rossville High School, Jordan accepted a scholarship to play at Anderson University without playing AAU basketball. He has always embraced adversity.

At Anderson University Jordan had the opportunity to play at Indiana University in his first college basketball game ever, in Tom Crean's coaching debut at Indiana. However, Jordan did not dress that night which ignited a fire in him and set him on a mission to become one of the best three point shooters in college basketball.

The next season he transferred to Purdue North Central University (now Purdue Northwest) and made it a goal during his college basketball career to become one of the top three point shooters in the entire country. At Purdue North Central, Jordan led the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference in three-point percentage and three-pointers made and finished fourth in the nation in three-point percentage (45%). He also finished the season ninth in the entire country in three-point field goals made (89). This result came from the previous off-season of locking himself in a gym day in and day out working on his craft of shooting. Not playing in his first game as a freshman could have defined him but he used it as motivation to compete to get better. He was also named second-team all-conference and served as a team captain.

It was Jordan's goal to be a college coach someday. So when his playing career ended, Jordan gained valuable experience as a manager for Purdue University’s Men’s Basketball Team, learning under Coach Matt Painter and one of the best coaching staffs in the entire country. He’s also worked basketball camps at Purdue, Duke University, and the University of Wisconsin gleaning as much wisdom as he could from the country's best coaches.

Jordan then sent out over 200 emails to college coaches and visited 12 college coaches in their office to obtain a college coaching job. After 6 interviews and 3 job offers Jordan accepted the role to be an assistant coach at Judson University in Elgin, IL.

In 2014 Jordan became an assistant coach at the powerhouse of the NAIA, Indiana Wesleyan University. Jordan won a national championship in 2016 and got to learn from some of the best coaches in America in Greg Tonagel, Jeff Clark and Ethan Whaley.

Jordan started training players in 2011 and always dreamed of owning a barn in the countryside of Indiana where players of all levels would come to train. He even journaled pictures of this barn with a basketball court in it in Junior High and still looks back at those journals. In 2015, he and his wife Courtney, their dream was birthed as they started Compete Training Academy. In 2017, they took the next step of their dream as they bought a former dairy barn that they transformed into a one-stop shop for a basketball player. Now, you can come by the barn at any time of the day and see basketball players of all levels, from preschool to professionals, being taught what it means to COMPETE in the barn!

Jordan has trained hundreds of players of all ability levels, from youth to Big Ten, ACC, WNBA and NBA hoopers. Come to the barn in Marion, IN or bring in Jordan to your location to train you on the court and in your mindset! It is Jordan’s life purpose to help people of all ages and industry to realize their purpose and max out their potential!
